The Challenge

  • JT are a shower tray manufacturer in Leeds – there main target audience is the trade with plumbers, merchants and distributers always being the #1 target
  • JT want to engage with more tradesman to get an understanding of the market.
  • Hatch came up with the campaign idea “UK Plumber of the Year” to help target and talk to more plumbers

The Solution

  • Hatch developed a brand plan for the competition including a logo, website and social channels
  • Secured partners with Bristan, Plumb Centre, Helly Hanson, CAT, C.K Tools and Heating and Plumbing Monthly as a media competition partner
  • Year one achieved over 100 applications to the competition, Year Two received over 250
  • The plumbers embark on “Vote for Me” campaign to get the public on board – over 5500 votes have been registered
  • Regional coverage all over the UK for the finalists – local BBC Radio even joined one of the Plumbers in their van on a morning commute!
  • PR value of over £160k for two years of activity
  • Rapid social media growth with dedicated channels set up and ran
