The Challenge

The Malton Food Lovers Festival, now in it’s 8th year, attracts tens of thousands of visitors to the North Yorkshire market town of Malton over the Festival weekend.

Hatch was tasked with promoting the festival, securing regular features and listings in leading regional, tourism, food and drink, travel and lifestyle media, securing coverage in titles such as Daily Mail, Delicious, Simple Magazine, Country Life, The Sun and Women’s Weekly.

The Solution

Organised press visits to Malton, giving journalists guided food tours to better understand the quality food and drink being produced in Yorkshire, including Women’s Weekly and the Daily Mail.

Promoting Malton as a food tourism destination all year round, proactively engaging with key media to promote food and drink initiatives in Malton.

Sourcing, managing and activating sponsorship for the Festival.

Talent management role, liaising with and chaperoning celebrity chefs and food writers during festival weekend.

Writing features for regional media supplements in run up to Festival.
