Helen Simpson joins Hatch PR as Account Manager, bringing a wealth of experience in the food and drink and farming and agricultural industries.
It’s a huge pleasure to be welcomed into family Hatch.
I have worked across a range of sectors, but my experience and passion lies in food, farming and rural affairs, and tourism – which, in short, translates to “I love to eat and I’m never short of a farmer to pull me out of the snow”. I blame my Cumbrian heritage. I was raised on fresh air and fell walking, and I’ve never been able to shake those rural roots!
Over the last few years, I have worked alongside a range of extraordinary people and businesses, including northern supermarket retailer Booths, HRH The Prince of Wales’ rural charity The Prince’s Countryside Fund, food tourism initiative Taste Cumbria and the innovative Westmorland Family. I’ve had my fair share of events experience too, from Dig the City, the UK’s biggest urban gardening festival, to the Malton Food Lovers’ Festival and the Taste Cumbria Food Festival (I did tell you I love to eat!).
This has seen my former colleagues and I construct a living forest of 70 fully mature specimen trees and 18 pop up show gardens in Manchester city centre, feed Women’s Institute brownies to Snoop Dogg, serve Lakeland Herdwick to PM David Cameron and build life size horses from fruit and vegetables.
As you can see, I’m well versed in the extreme, and often ridiculous, lengths we go to in the name of PR and look forward to bringing more weird and wacky (and most importantly, effective!) ideas to the table in 2015.
I’m sure after reading this the question that will linger on your mind is – just what ARE the Women’s Institute putting in those brownies?!
